Interim & Permanent Head of Manufacturing Operations

CEDO

The Challenge?

CeDo was going through a period of transformation as a business, with a relatively new CEO driving this. The previous Head of Manufacturing Operations had only been in post for 6 months before leaving and this created disruption for the operations team.

There was a need to transform the operational processes and procedures at the UK manufacturing site to ensure consistency across international sites and improve production. The successful candidate would need to come from a manufacturing and ideally FMCG background.

The Solution?

We suggested placing an interim manager to start the transformation whilst we initiated the search for a permanent hire. We shortlisted a number of candidates for CeDo to review with two candidates progressed to interview stage. Given the importance of this hire it was key to ensure the right candidate was offered who could quickly assimilate where improvements could be made. After a short time into the role the interim made it known to us that he would like to be considered as part of our Search for the permanent hire. Our research mapped out the relevant markets and produced a shortlist of very strong candidates from differing backgrounds but with the right attitude and skill sets. We shortlisted 4 candidates that were taken through the same extensive assessment process as the interim role.

The Result?

CeDo were very pleased with the quality of candidates interviewed but ultimately decided that our Interim Manager had proved himself to be a perfect fit and was already making considerable improvements. The Interim gladly accepted the offer and has continued to transform the operations in the UK and started to implement best practice across all sites.

The Crown Commercial Services Board needed to find a new Executive Development of Business Development and Growth. The appointee would to increase turnover from £18 billion to £30 billion in five years.
