The Challenge?
The Jersey Government needed to counter financial crime within the jurisdiction. They turned to Penna to find a leading financial crime professional who could operate with credibility at Board level with senior figures within European Union and UK regulatory bodies to ensure Jersey positioned itself as a leading International Finance Centre.
The Solution?
We set out to find candidates with high levels of technical expertise, industry experience and credibility with policy makers in London and Brussels. An international search lead us to our shortlist of 4 candidates. These individuals were put through their paces through a series of technical and competency-based interviews and psychological assessments.
The Result?
The successful candidate was appointed from the European Union’s Financial Action Task Force based in Paris.
Penna has since been commissioned to recruit two technical financial crime specialists for the Island who came from KPMG and HSBC respectively, plus the Director of Risk and Audit who came from Grant Thornton. In addition, we were mandated on an annual contract to recruit 8 senior tax specialists for Revenue Jersey which included securing international candidates from Brussels, Canada and Australia.
